Felicia Greciuc – Solo Oboist
A Unique Path to Classical Music
Music has been present in my life for as long as I can remember, though my journey into classical music was not a conventional one. My earliest connection to music came through Romanian folk traditions, a world rich in rhythm and storytelling. It was only later, during my high school years, that I began to see the oboe not just as an instrument I played, but as a true artistic voice—one that could shape my future. This realization marked a turning point where music became more than a passion; it became my path.
From Romania to the World
Since then, my career has taken me across Europe and beyond, leading to solo oboe positions with:
– Royal Danish Orchestra (since 2019, permanent position) – one of the world’s oldest orchestras, with a history dating back to 1448.
– Esbjerg Ensemble, Denmark
– Iceland Symphony Orchestra
– “George Enescu” Philharmonic, Romania
I have had the privilege of performing at festivals such as the George Enescu Festival and in concert halls across Denmark, Germany, and throughout Europe, as well as in South Korea, Russia, and Taiwan. I have played in a wide range of musical settings, from symphonic and chamber music to opera, ballet, and contemporary music, constantly exploring new artistic perspectives.
Competitions & Artistic Growth
Alongside my orchestral career, I have always embraced the challenge of competitions, earning prizes at the Ysaye International Competition, the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition, the International Artist Competition in Vienna, and the George Dima International Competition in Romania. These experiences have enriched my development as a musician and deepened my expression.
A Strong Foundation & International Influence
My formal studies began at the National University of Music Bucharest, where my dedication to the oboe truly developed. I later pursued postgraduate studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, broadening my artistic perspective.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of performing concerts across Europe and beyond, sharing music with diverse audiences and cultures. My work has taken me from renowned concert halls to intimate chamber music settings, allowing me to engage with different styles and interpretations.
Chamber Music & Artistic Projects
Chamber music has always been an essential part of my artistic identity. As a founding member of the V Coloris Wind Quintet, I have collaborated with inspiring musicians, explored diverse repertoire, and recorded projects that highlight lesser-known works. In 2024, I released “Legacy for Wind Instruments by Sigismund Toduță”, a project dedicated to rediscovering hidden musical treasures.
A Personal Connection to Music
For me, music is about more than just performance—it is about storytelling, creativity, and connection. Whether in an orchestra, a chamber ensemble, or as a soloist, I am constantly searching for new ways to bring music to life.
Beyond my performances, I find inspiration in art, museums, and dance, which continue to shape my artistic voice. Music is an evolving journey, and I am always seeking new ways to express it—whether through different styles, collaborations, or instruments. I play a Marigaux M2 oboe, an instrument that allows me to shape my sound with depth and flexibility, adapting to the wide variety of music I perform.
Thank you for visiting!
I hope our musical paths cross soon—whether in a concert hall, through a recording, or somewhere in between.
